Upcoming Spring Concerts

Chrismon Chorale’s Spring Concert Series will feature two major works by New York composer, Michael John Trotta:  “Five Psalms” and “Light Shines in the Darkness.”

“Five Psalms” is an entirely new work that Chrismon Chorale will premiere in the Twin Cities on Saturday, May 3, 4:00 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Way in Shoreview, MN, and again on Sunday, May 4, 4:00 pm at Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington, MN.

The composer, Michael John Trotta, dedicated  “Five Psalms” “for Larry Bach,” and personally requested that Bach conduct the premiere New York performance in Carnegie Hall on Memorial Day, 2025. Members of Chrismon Chorale, alumni and current singers from the North Central University Concert Chorale, and members of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church Canticle Choir will join Bach in New York for that performance.

Trotta creates music that resonates with international audiences, from Carnegie Hall to cathedrals and concert halls around the world.  Choir and Organ Magazine described his music as “elegant, singable music with a strong, spiritual heft.
